Batman is back. This time, he faces several challenges. Harvey Dent (Alias Two-Face) who had acid thrown on his face, Edward Nygma (Alias The Riddler) who has invented a device that manipulates human brainwaves and transfers them into his own head, Dr. Chace Maridian, who has a major crush on him and not much his alter-ego Bruce Wayne, and Dick Grayson (Alias Robin), who lost his family at the hands of Two-Face and is taken in by Wayne. Batman, now must train Dick Grayson and confront both Two-Face and The Riddler to save Gotham City.

Having defeated the Joker, Batman now faces the Penguin - a warped and deformed individual who is intent on being accepted into Gotham society. Crooked businessman Max Schreck is coerced into helping him become Mayor of Gotham and they both attempt to expose Batman in a different light. Earlier however, Selina Kyle, Max's secretary, is thrown from the top of a building and is transformed into Catwoman - a mysterious figure who has the same personality disorder as Batman. Batman must attempt to clear his name, all the time deciding just what must be done with the Catwoman.

After a young boy witnesses his parents' murder on the streets of Gotham City, he grows up to become the Batman - a mysterious figure in the eyes of Gotham's citizens - who takes crime-fighting into his own hands. He first emerges out of the shadows when the Joker appears - a horribly disfigured individual who is out for revenge on his former employer and generally likes to have a good time -

Lisa is killed while protecting Maggie, and Frank presses her to tell what is happening. She discloses that a veteran soldier called Michael Griffin was submitted to an experiment with the objective of creating the ultimate national security weapon, an undetectable soldier. However, the experiment failed, with horrible side effects due to the damage to the cells caused by the radiation. Michael is chasing Maggie to get the necessary buffer to survive.
